As many of you know Chad and Meliah went to the states to look at 4 colleges. They were gone 29 days. In that 29 days the Lord showed me that no matter how small the problem, He cares and takes care of it.
- Even in a hopeless situation God can do amazing things. Anna’s glasses broke: someone was going to Cairns and was able to get a replacement pair for only .50 cents more than the last pair. The neighbor was able to bring them back with her when returning to PNG after just a couple weeks!
- God provides a sense of humor. Our newly acquired dog got off his run, less than 24 hrs after "the travelers" (Chad and Meliah) had left. A neighbor was able to fix the cable. Scout has gotten good at getting off but finding his way home.
- God has given us knowledge. Our tv/dvd remote died and Anna and I were able to swap out a different DVD player without any assistance.
Kiery Reading to Scout our new dog! |
- God knew before the event happened. The bread maker that had been dying a slow pitiful death and finally succumbed to its demise. There was an almost new bread maker for sale on the UkaShop (our online community "for sale" board) within a few days of the other one dying.
- The power went out and made the UPS beep non-stop at me. I was able to call someone, that Chad works with and we went to POC with, and he gave me some ideas. In the end I just unplugged it and it stayed that way till they returned.
- God always provides. One of the washers here had a leak. I am so thankful that we have another washer that works, while the broken one is out of commission.
- God provided the right person and the right time. The girls and I had 3 girls come over and stay with us while their parents got away to Lae to do some shopping. The girls were about the same age as ours. So it was something to look forward to. We didn’t realize that the oldest was allergic to cats. Yes, we have a cat. Long story short. She ended up sleeping at someone else’s house each night and then hanging out with her sisters here during the day. Thankful that there was someone who was willing to take in a teenager on short notice.
- God provided friendship. When the days started getting longer and longer and the kid's questions got more intense and to a constant level. A friend would call or stop by or email and say come over for a cuppa. God knew that I needed an adult to interact with.
The travelers returned VERY tired from their adventures in the US. This mom is very glad her family is in the same time zone, same hemisphere, and under the same roof again, at least for now!!!
I see the same provision when I look up to Him instead of glaring at the problem. Thanks for sharing!
